The CEO of Rolls Royce,Tom Purves, has surprised the whole market by announcing that he would be interested in producing a new electric car in the Phantom line.
Speaking on this issue, the CEO said that many of the company's customers only lead a few km per day within the cities, so they would be much more useful to an electric car that can carry and bring them to a single charge.
This news was announced after he gave Purba a spin in the new electric Mini, which will be presented next month at the Auto Salon in Los Angeles, which he described as excellent: quiet, fast and fun.
Returning to his model, Purves said that to build an electric car, you should keep the level of all Rolls Royce, noting that an electric motor would add more capacity as they are much quieter engines that common.
Traveling a bit over time, the electric car could become an obligation for the company if new laws are adopted worldwide. That the CEO replied that it is not difficult to imagine that in a few years to be banned all cars with too much CO2.
On mechanics, Purves said that there would be very difficult to build an electric car, since it could be built in central Rolls Royce at Goodwood, with help from BMW, which has experience of the new Mini.
Finally, Purves recalled that the new Mini E has a range of 225 kilometers per charge, which would be more than enough for many customers of the company.
